We have all experienced our share of solicitations out there. Marketing campaigns have their ways of getting their hands on our information. In many instances it is sold to them by other companies we have done business with. Ten years ago most of us only had to deal with such solicitations in our mailboxes and over the house phone. It then moved on to our e-mail accounts. Now the target has become our cell phones.
When you get a call on your phone you expect it to be someone that you know. After all your cell phone number isnt readily available for the general public to access. Discovering that it is a solicitations call can be frustrating. The fact that you will have to use your cell phone minutes to deal with such calls is also frustrating. If you get a call once in a while it may not be such a big deal to you. Yet there cell phone users out there getting several of these unwanted phone calls every single day.
You may be well aware of the do not call registry. You can call or email them to take your phone number off their list. However, you can also do this for your cell phone number as well. A couple of minutes to do this can certainly stop most of them from coming to your phone. If you continue to get them tell the caller you are on the do not call list. It is illegal for them to continue calling you once they have been told you are on that list.
If the phone calls persist then you will want to report it. Keep in mind though that it can take up to 30 days after you get on this no call list before the information is in the database of solicitors. If they do call you during that initial 30 day span you need to firmly tell them what you have done to stop such calls from being placed to your cell phone.
Get the phone number that shows up on your phone. You also want to get the name of their agency and the time when they called. Their organization can be fined once it is verified they are calling you when they shouldnt be. You also want to be very careful what business organizations you give your cell phone number to. Take the time to ask them if they sell their customers information to other organizations.
